WATCH: Developer outlines entertainment complex for downtown association

The idea behind a new 10- to 12-story all-encompassing entertainment building was pitched to the Downtown Association of Hot Springs Tuesday morning.

Owner and developer Charlie Devine explained the ins and outs of his entertainment project, Devine’s Downtown, and told meeting attendees why he feels the project is necessary.

Devine and his wife, Jonna, run and own the Hot Springs Bathhouse Dinner Theatre which will be demolished to make way for the new project. During 2019, Devine worked to bring people into the theater and said he talked to thousands of visitors.

“The number one question we were asked is, ‘What is there to do in Hot Springs?’ Number two question is, ‘Where is there a place to stay?’ Number three is, ‘Where is there a place to eat that doesn’t cost you a fortune?’ Number four is, ‘Where is a convenience store?’… All of those were problems,” Devine said.
