Major concert, entertainment venues in N.J. can have fans under new capacity limits

New Jersey’s largest concert and entertainment venues will soon be allowed to host events with capacity limits as the state’s COVID-19 numbers improve, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday.

Venues with 5,000 fixed seats or more will be allowed to have crowds at 10% capacity at indoor events and 15% for outdoor venues with that same seating minimum starting March 1.

Face coverings will be required, except when eating or drinking, and all groups must be seated at least six feet from each other.

The change matches similar restrictions Murphy also announced Monday a limited number of people will be allowed to attend professional and college games in New Jersey.

The requirement for a minimum of 5,000 fixed seats limits the changes
